Have I blogged these pics yet?
It was in the end just a temporary upgrade to the full size bath. We are now back to using the blow-up bath he's had since birth. After the first few successful nights, Aston decided he no longer enjoyed his bath's and screamed blue murder for the entire exercise, making washing him and his crazy curly hair a little difficult.
After two weeks or so he's now happy to stand in the blow up bath, not sit, but stand.
So that's what we let him do.
Aston Update
Aston is feeling much better and is almost back to his normal self this weekend. He really started to eat food again about two days ago, in that he was interested in eating something and didn't have to be supremely coaxed into taking a bite of this or that.
He's still a bit funny with dairy like his yoghurt and cheese but cruskits, wholemeal bread, vegemite, fruit etc he's back on track with.
This week we had to buy a whole heap more child safe locks as he is unrelentless in his search for the things he can't have while wilfully ignoring the colourful and extensive range of toys he has at his disposal ... if proof is required refer the Crab Cracker/teeth cracker shot above.
We've also not taken many photos' this week as he's been sick and then the camera battery needed a good long charge so this pic was taken last week.

First B'day celebrations
Getting into mischief
Pulling the ribbon off the blinds that keeps him from chewing on them
Legging it out of the bathroom because he knows the bath is coming .. yep still hates it
Trying to get into a draw he shouldnt be in
Smearing yoghurt and apple juice all over me as we attempt to get him to eat/drink something .... which he then promptly brought up all over the sofa. Lucky we haven't upgraded it yet!
A trip to Bronte
Despite Aston's illness and recent trip to hospital with gastro we though the lively little fella needed some good fresh sea air so took a trip to Bronte early on Saturday morning.
Granted we were only there 30 mins as we wanted to leave before the unseasonally high 30 degree temps really started to kick in ... and half an hour was probably all the little mite could take anyway.
He was a little unsure of the sand and the surf at first (we really need to take him out more often) he soon got into the swing of things.
And is learning from an early age the benefits of slip, slop slap with a hat and sunglasses.

Happy Birthday Aston
Our gorgeous little boy turned 1 today. Its hard to believe that it's been a whole year, some days feel like they've flown by and others seem a little bit longer. Since his birth Aston has travelled to London, Reading, Bourmouth, New York, LA (briefly), Hawaii, Sydney and is about to take a trip back to the UK to see his wonderful English grandparents again.
He has learned to roll, crawl, clap, do twinkle twinkle, babble and now walk. And when we say walk we mean WALK. That's all we do now. Sometimes in circles around and around the apartment.
He understands simple instructions such as 'Aston go and get your yoghurt' he will go to the fridge, open it, get his yoghurt and bring it to me. 'Where's mommy's nose' (Like you could miss it says Rob), 'Ta' and the appropriate use of the word, ma ma ma, da da da and a few other sounds. Including at the moment the re-emergance of the very unattractive squeal. Which we're hoping he forgets again before the next plane ride.
He's gone from loving his bath to HATING his bath in the last week so we are working on tactic's to try and get him washed each night until this temporary glitch is over.
He notices birds and points to them, he notices planes in the sky and points to them. Luckily he has a lot of opportunity to notice the planes given the Sydney flight path ra ra ra. He is by in large a happy, cheeky, friendly and gregarious little boy who we are very lucky to have in our lives. We hope he has a wonderful day.
Asserting my independence
You won't be able to view these as movies as they're via picasa so we'll put them up the old fashioned way shortly but you can see from this images that Aston is more than happy to take himself off for a few walks around the place without either Rob or I needing to be in the same room. Soon he'll be flipping us the finger and rolling home drunk at 4am.
Taking the Cheese Grater for a walk
Aston still loves the dishwasher. And especially after he wakes up from the afternoon sleep as this is the time that we unpack it together.
Obviously he wants to take the plates and knives and stuff but I encourage him to take the plastic containers instead. The other day he was able to grab the cheese grater and took it on a bit of a walk around our apartment.
